Anders Manga's debut album, One Up for the Dying, is a hard album to classify; perhaps darkwave, perhaps a bit of rock, perhaps synth, then mixed thoroughly and poured into your head with an almost eeriely smooth sound.
The vocals are smooth and even, with a unique quality often lacking in many new bands. Track after track delivers quality songs, with a wide variety of styles that is refreshing. Expect orchestral moments, piano ballads, punchy darkwave, synthpop accents, and even a cover of Alice Cooper's See Me in the Mirror.
One Up for the Dying is definitely an album that should make its way into your cd collection. At the time of this writing, Anders Manga plan to release their second album, tentatively titled Mutiny, in late 2005.
